Huh, guess I'm still alive.
In an effort to make up for my extended absence, I return to you all bearing exciting news for those interested in video game development. For everyone else who might be wondering when I'll finally get around to posting some more art, the answer is that it is on its way.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in the video game industry, then I have something to say that may interest you. A little over a month ago, I participated in a Game Jam event wherein I and 3 others began created a Smash Bros. shmup over the course of a weekend (which you can download and play here
). We've done the bulk of the work and are looking to finish the game so that we may eventually sell it off. However, as the sole artist on the team, I will be in need of some assistance. If the prospect of working on a game with me interests you, have a gander at the application criteria below. Don't worry if you're not interested in doing everything listed or don't meet all the criteria:
Some of the things that you can expect to do:
2D Animation. ****ANIMATORS WILL BE GIVEN TOP PRIORITY****
Space ship, character, and level designs.
Character and game story and background information.
Very, very little 3D animation.
... and more!
Must be at least 21 years old. Must be highly motivated and mature - we're not looking for kids, we want people dedicated to working towards a common goal. ****OBLIGATORY****
The team lives in or near Montreal, Quebec area. We will mostly communicate via Skype but there will be times when we will have to physically meet. If you cannot meet the team, you cannot be a part of it. ****OBLIGATORY****
Must be able to work with 2D sprites. If you've had the change to play the game, you'll know the game's art is 95% sprite-based. Furthermore, you'll need to keep up with the visual style I started.
So there you have it. If any of this suits your fancy, hit me up with a message. Tell your friends, tell anyone who might want to get involved. Heck, even if you're not interested, talk to me. It's been a while so we're sure to have some catching up to do
