Ghirahim's Fabulous Ride

Today is your lucky day, . A day when all the world may celebrate your second decade of existence... or, to use the more common vernacular, Happy Birthday!

These birthday art trades of ours have become something of a yearly tradition I've come to look forward to. True, we don't really need an excuse to do an art trade (especially when we both love the subject matter) but I think doing it this way gives the gift a little more meaning and makes it all the more special. And really, it is the feelings put into the work, not the substance itself, that truly matters.

Now then, the idea behind this pic came from the finale of Skyward Sword (which should help explain the lighting and the shadows on the leg). With Ghirahim having to divide his attention between the sacrificial ritual and the approaching hero, I would think the Demon Lord would get tired of dancing around. So, why not pull up a couch out of nowhere, take a seat, and get fabulous? It may not do anything in the long run but at least Ghirahim could conduct business with the same elegant style he's known for. Why a couch, though? Because it is beautiful like that, of course!

This year I got a bit of a head start on my side of our trade; indeed, despite being my third submission or the year this was actually the very first drawing I did (hence why it was drawn in the same style I was using at the conclusion of last year).
